Wyndham Spencer maintains standards following recent Ofsted inspection
Staff, parents and pupils at Wyndham Spencer Academy are celebrating this week after receiving a tremendous report from their most recent Ofsted inspection. With the amazing work by the team at Wyndham, Ofsted have confirmed they have continued to maintain standards which were previously graded as ‘Outstanding’ in 2014.
The report opens: “Pupils are extremely well supported to feel secure and content at this school. They know that staff have ‘GREAT expectations’ of them and they strive to reach these. Pupils contribute well to the school’s culture of respect. They grow to become confident speakers and listeners. They engage meaningfully in lesson discussions and collaborate effectively with their peers. Pupils develop highly positive attitudes towards learning. They are not only enthusiastic about their studies but are also resilient, learning from their mistakes and persevering through challenges.”
The report then goes on to say, “Pupils thrive on a vast array of enrichment activities and opportunities. Sports, art, music, engineering and computing clubs foster their many interests and creativity.”
The school’s ‘WONDER’ curriculum was also acknowledged. Inspectors noted that the curriculum is "continually refined to ensure it reflects pupils’ needs and inspired them exceptionally well." Pupils also greatly appreciate how teachers bring the curriculum to life and make learning so enjoyable.
Wyndham Spencer’s clear understanding of the needs of pupils with special education needs and/or disabilities was highlighted within the report. Inspectors noted “The school identifies the needs of pupils with SEND swiftly. Staff adapt the curriculum effectively to meet their vast range of needs. Staff skilfully remove barriers to learning so pupils with SEND can succeed.”
The report spotlights the school’s motto; ‘together, we can create a world of endless opportunities’. The inspectors noted how this motto promotes togetherness and steadfast commitment to the success of every pupil, embodying the whole school community.

This recognition is a testament to our passionate staff, engaged families, and, most importantly, our incredible pupils who inspire us every day."
