Spencer Academies Trust welcomes new starters to Finance & Primary Education teams

The Trust is pleased to have started off the school year with our new colleagues, who have ensured a strong position to begin the term.

Spencer Academies Trust is pleased to welcome the following colleagues to our family of schools.

The finance team has welcomed Nida Sajjad as a finance apprentice and Seraya Parkinson and Lisa Knight as finance assistants. Head of Finance Michelle Wooley said, “The finance team welcomed three new people in the autumn term. We welcome all three and wish them well in their new roles.”

Lisa Knight previously worked at another trust, and Seraya Parkinson moved to the central team from Farnborough Spencer Academy.

Lisa said, “I have worked in education for over 20 years within similar roles and was over the moon to be offered this role. The finance team and the wider school staff have been so welcoming and supportive I hope to continue in my role to support everyone within Spencer Academy Trust and our suppliers for many years to come.”

“I’m delighted to be a part of the Spencer Academies Trust team,” said Seraya. “Since joining the trust in September, I’ve been thoroughly enjoying the role and the fantastic team members I get to work with. I look forward to the exciting journey ahead and the opportunities it will bring.”

Nida Sajjad, a former student at George Spencer Academy, began her apprenticeship in August and has already come a long way. She said, “Starting with zero knowledge of finance, these past couple of months have been an incredible journey of learning and growth. The team here is truly amazing – they are kind, caring, and incredibly helpful. Their support has made all the difference in my transition. I couldn’t be more grateful to be part of such a supportive community.”

Luke Tantum, who has been with the Trust for many years, has recently moved into the role of Associate Primary Vice Principal. He said of his new role, “I get to work in different primary academies—something that is great about the role, and I get to work with a wide range of stakeholders in each school. I also love working alongside our academies in helping them to develop their curriculums.”

Director of Primary Education Angela O’Brien, OBE said, “It has been great to watch Luke progress his career from a leadership role in a school to one at the central team, where he is able to share his expertise with many more leaders. We are excited to see this role develop and impact positively on many more Spencer children.”

On behalf of the entire Trust, we are thrilled to welcome Lisa, Seraya, Nida and Luke.
