Spencer Apprenticeships are excited to announce the launch of the Early Intervention Practitioner Programme
Spencer Academies Trust and Spencer Apprenticeships are thrilled to announce the introduction of the brand-new Level 4 Early Intervention Practitioner (EIP) programme.
Applications are now open for colleagues wishing to undertake this innovative new programme, beginning in November 2024.
The new apprenticeship is designed to support newly appointed teachers (or those within 2 years of their appointment), and those in roles such as family support workers, wellbeing officers, pastoral leads and attendance leads.
Early Intervention Practitioners work across a range of settings and help to support individuals through evidence-based practical advice, guidance and emotional support in order to help them overcome barriers impacting their daily lives. Typical issues practitioners deal with range from substance misuse to mental health support. Early Intervention Practitioners also commonly work with those impacted by the individuals’ circumstances, such as their family and friends.
Shea Tipping, the Programme Lead is excited to see the positive impact this will have in Spencer schools – “I look forward to leading on the Early Intervention Practitioner programme! The course will allow our participating schools to develop their own effective Early Intervention Practitioners as well as an early help provision to ensure more children and families are able to access support in a timely and effective way.”
Working in education and safeguarding, Shea has seen first-hand how important successful early help provision can be: “the impact of early intervention is huge and means less families are hitting crisis point when we engage with vulnerable individuals and families early on. This programme will build on practitioners' key skills to promote the safeguarding and wellbeing of the children and families we serve within our communities.”
Sarah Kelly, Apprenticeships Operations Manager said “This is an exciting time for us as a provider - we know how important training and support pathways are for our pastoral staff. We are proud to be able to offer a Level 4 apprenticeship for our Early Intervention Practitioners with the support of our partner schools. We believe in the difference these colleagues make and want to offer the best training package to support them.”
