Spencer Academies Trust announces Kate Green as new Director of Primary Education
Mrs Green previously served as principal at Portland Spencer Academy and executive principal within the Trust.
Spencer Academies Trust is pleased to announce that Kate Green is taking on the role of Director of Primary Education.
Mrs Green began her Spencer career in 2003 as an NQT. She has a proven track record in leading school improvement in her roles as subject specialist, deputy head, principal and executive principal across Spencer schools. Her impact has been most recently recognised in an Outstanding Ofsted judgement in November 2023 at Portland Spencer Academy, where she began her first headship in 2015.
Kate will be responsible for support, performance standards and outcomes across the Trust’s 18 primary schools, including one special school, across the East Midlands region. She will take up the role from 1 April 2024.
A highly driven, passionate leader, Mrs Green believes that every child should be able to succeed regardless of their starting points. Her passion for equity and excellence is driven by her experience across a full range of socioeconomic contexts, through which she developed strategic and systematic thinking, created highly inclusive cultures and delivered strong outcomes, particularly for disadvantaged pupils.
Mrs Green is keen to develop others at every opportunity and has worked as an evidence leader in education, facilitated continued professional development from SCITT to NPQSL/H, completed NPQEL herself and is an active member of the Chartered College. She has worked to co-develop quality assurance systems at the MAT level that enable purposeful collaboration to mobilise knowledge and secure a great education offer for all children.
Outside of work, Mrs Green enjoys watching live sport, fine dining, walking the dog and visiting the gym. She also loves taking holidays with her husband and two sporty sons.
Mrs Green said, “I am absolutely thrilled to take this next step in my professional journey with Spencer Academies Trust. I’m proud of the collaborative work and our achievements so far. Looking forward, I am excited to deepen this further as we collectively strive to achieve the best possible life chances for our children and communities.”
Chief Executive Paul West said, “I am delighted that Kate has been appointed to the role of Director of Primary Education and I look forward to welcoming her to our executive leadership team.”
