Following his appointment, Joe said "I am thrilled to be stepping into the role of Principal at Portland Spencer Academy. Having been Head of School for the past 18 months, I have seen for myself how committed the whole school is to ensuring every child is able to ASPIRE in all that they do. I am looking forward to working closely with Portland's talented and dedicated team to lead the school on the next steps in its journey.”
Portland Spencer, based in Bilborough in Nottingham, have just celebrated their first ever “Outstanding” rating across all five categories in their recent Ofsted inspection.
Director of Primary Education, and former Portland Spencer Principal and Executive Principal, Kate Green, is excited about this chapter in Portland’s story - “Joe has been part of the Portland Spencer team for over a year so steps into the role as Principal with an abundance of knowledge of the systems, the community and the school’s aspirations. His own vision, knowledge and determination will enable the school to continue to provide a high level of education and I look forward to seeing him take on this next chapter.”
Since beginning his teaching journey 13 years ago, Joe has been passionate about empowering students and cultivating a genuine love for learning. “Over the years, I've had the privilege of working with diverse groups of students across the East Midlands, honing my skills, and providing the best possible learning opportunities. I've also been dedicated to mentoring and developing other teachers, sharing best practice and fostering collaboration across the Spencer Academies Trust.”
“My experiences have reinforced my belief in the transformative power of education and the importance of creating a supportive and inclusive school community."
From all at Spencer Academies Trust, we wish Joe well in his new role!
